Shielding from electromagnetic interference (EMI) with composite can be accomplished by using either special materials in the advanced composite “Lay Up” or via special processes.
These special materials and processes includes:
State-of-the-art resin additives
Specialty pre-preg composites
Deposition plating
Dip plating
Conductive paints and coatings
Foil, expanded metal mesh, and metal coated fiber veil
Let us help you select a composite for an approach that best addresses your EMI requirements.
Thermal Performance
Composite materials typically provide thermal insulation, primarily because of resin properties. Emerging technologies are being used to increase resin thermal conductivity properties to increase the heat dissipation properties of composite structures. Specialty materials can be used to manufacture components that have the thermal conductivity of copper but only in the direction of the unidirectional carbon fibers.
